Most students are from all around the world. We go to picnics together. We sometimes do a potluck or barbecue. We get to know each other and share our cultures, so that’s so much fun.
I learned a lot at the MLC. I like the organization of the classes and this is very important. I loved the teachers. They are so friendly. I enjoyed the activities at the MLC. For example, the bowling and the pizza parties. They are important for us to help make new friends and enjoy our lives here. It’s a wonderful school.
We have a wide variety of students: some are preparing for university in the US, some who need to improve their English for their job, some who have moved to the US and are adjusting to a new language and culture. Although MLC’s programs are primarily for adult students, middle and high school students are welcome to enroll during their school vacations.

We have an English Assessment to determine your English level. It includes a 1-hour online test and a 15-minute online assessment meeting with MLC staff. During the assessment meeting, MLC staff will share your level and recommend classes for you.
We offer Grammar, Writing, Reading and Speaking/Listening classes at all levels (Low Beginning through Advanced). We also offer Test Prep Skills and Professional English classes for Advanced level students.
Most of our classes are in-person on weekdays during the daytime (Monday through Friday, between 9:00am-3:30pm). We offer one Professional English group class online in the evenings for individuals who work during the day. Private lessons can be arranged online for convenience.
Our class size typically ranges from 4-12 students. There may occasionally be less or more students in each class since the number of students enrolled at each level can change each 5-week session.
Our students come from all over the world. We usually have around 10-15 different countries represented each session. The mix of countries represented in each class will change each 5-week session. Even when students speak the same native language as their classmates, we emphasize speaking in English as much as possible when students are at MLC.
Tuition for one 5-week session ranges from $500-1650 depending on how many hours you study. Our comprehensive tuition includes all books and materials, student services, weekly lunch hour workshops and activities, and on-campus cultural experiences. Students may occasionally pay for optional off-campus special activities such as trips to the apple orchard, local cafes, bowling, or the movie theater.

Ann Arbor is a beautiful, safe town with a diverse population and vibrant art, music, and sports culture. It also enjoys the beauty of 4 seasons throughout the year: fall/autumn, winter, spring and summer.
